Make-up Bag

I was able to "play" a little yesterday and completed this make-up bag from one of the fabrics I purchased on Saturday.  It was the first time with this pattern and I'm not completely happy with it, so I will be reworking it before using it again.  I am hoping to open up a shop on etsy and sell some crafts- -but lots of work to do on the patterns first so that they are nice enough to sell!  I love the fabric though, looks kind of retro and I just think it's fun!  The buttons on the front are from a jar of antique/old buttons my brother gave me (he actually bought me 50 jars of old buttons (yes 50!) from various estate and garage sales.  So as you can imagine, I need to be using buttons on EVERYTHING!  LOL

Well one project down- - -oh so many to go. . . .

  1. Very cute! If that were at a store I would totally consider buying it. And I agree, I am a big button person too. put lots and lots of buttons on everything! You should try adding elastic loops for securing eyeliners and such. (not pockets because things get lost in pockets)Keep having fun Penny!

  2. Love the fabric. Actually, I was going to tell you that the smaller make-up pouch that you made at Christmas is now my sunglasses holder. It's the perfect size! It doesn't take up a lot of space in my purse.

  4. Well, I don't sew so I think its the bomb just the way it is! I would have used a hot glue gun on everything so I am duly impressed! Love your talent!
